ONLINE THERAPY IN KANSAS AND TEXAS

Hi, I’m Patti

I’m a therapist and grief educator.

I want to help you through change with compassion.

The first time I experienced true grief in my own life, I was not prepared. I felt confused, overwhelmed, and alone, and I didn’t know where to begin.

Now, I help people who are going through loss, uncertainty, and change to navigate these same challenges while feeling safe, supported, and heard. This is your space to embrace change and grow in the ways you need right now.

Through pain and progress, you are the expert in your life. I want to help you honor that.

  • A therapeutic method that encourages individuals to cultivate a non-judgmental awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and sensations, fostering a greater sense of presence and inner peace.

  • A therapeutic setting where individuals with similar challenges come together to share experiences, gain support, and learn coping strategies under the guidance of a trained therapist.

  • A therapeutic perspective that focuses on empowering individuals by recognizing and building upon their inherent strengths and positive attributes.

  • A counseling method that prioritizes creating a safe and non-judgmental space, allowing individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences at their own pace.

It is a brand new day of your life & as much as you might like, you cannot go back.
So how do we embrace this new day?

What is a grief educator?

A grief educator is a professional who specializes in helping individuals, families, and communities understand and cope with grief and loss. I have received specialized training and expertise in grief counseling through my work as well as training from David Kessler Inc. This work can be done in hospitals, schools, classrooms, and residential settings.

I offer a range of services to help individuals navigate grief of every shape. We can work on coping strategies for finding support, caring for ourselves, and discovering meaning after a loss. I have supported people of every age in all walks of life to move through their grief safely and in ways that feel right for them. I can help you too.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy with Me

Are you wondering what to expect? These questions can help you prepare for your therapy journey.

  • This is entirely up to your needs and the collaborative goals we set together. Some of my clients are with me for more than a year, but other people just need a bit of support to get through the initial shock of loss or change. Your goals, needs, and circumstances will all be part of the map of your journey, including how long this portion lasts.

  • We’ll spend 50 minutes in session.

  • Most clients choose a bi-weekly session schedule, however, some clients choose weekly or even monthly visits instead. We can tailor your schedule to meet your needs, and that can change as we go!

  • Once you’ve scheduled your first appointment, everything you need will be sent to you. Your welcome pack will be sent via email, and it contains the information you’ll need to know ahead of your appointment. It also helps me to be prepared for our first meeting so that I can get to know you without the pressure to complete the paperwork packet as well.

    Expect to receive:

    • Practice Policies

    • Informed Consent

    • Notice of Privacy Practice

    • Intake Questionnaire

  • You’ll be sent a link to the same email address where you received your welcome pack, so anywhere in Kansas or Texas that you can access your email is a place you can do therapy. All you need to do is click and go! Of course, I recommend that you take advantage of a private, quiet space so you can feel comfortable during our sessions.

  • It’s $135 per session, and I do offer a sliding scale for some clients. Payment can be made securely through IvyPay.

  • I do not accept insurance at this time, but I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • I understand that life happens, so if you need to cancel or change your appointment, you’re free to do so for any reason up to 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, my fee schedule for cancellations is:

Within 24 hours, up to 30 minutes before: $30

Within 30 minutes or without notice (no-show): Full fee

Our mission is to help you find hope, healing, and a new sense of purpose in the midst of grief, loss, and change.
